Born and raised in Germany, Ute began her artistic journey as a watercolorist in the 80s, capturing mostly landscapes of Southern Europe. Over time, creative evolutions motivated her to explore the fascinating world of abstract art, whereby she embraced a more conceptual and experimental approach, giving life to emotions and ideas through bold and expressive forms.
Her husband, their two children and Ute have lived in different countries throughout the past thirty years. During those years, her passion and work focused on design. Design and abstract art directed Ute to a dynamic path in the realm of visual expression.
Much of Ute's art focuses on colorful impressions and modern interpretation of idyllic landscapes. Her desire to enhance her ability to transform ideas onto canvases caused her to attend art classes and workshops wherever she lived.
The ever-changing world of mixed media as well as the available options to apply strong and eye-catching colors is the key to Ute's work today. She mostly works on canvasses by combining acrylic paint, watercolor, ink, sand, cement, and collage layers. She is fascinated by bright colors and their interactions with textural scenes and concepts. Most importantly, the vibrant art of abstract painting enhances her idea of freedom as well as never-ending curiosity.
Ute settled permanently on beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia, in 2015.
She hopes you will enjoy her art as much as she loves creating it.
